Big Ben

London's most iconic landmarks!

Officially, “Big Ben” is actually the nickname for the massive bell inside the clock tower, but over time, everyone started calling the whole tower Big Ben.

Its real name is the Elizabeth Tower, renamed in 2012 in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

You'll spot it right next to the Houses of Parliament, standing tall and proud over the River Thames.

What makes Big Ben so special isn't just its impressive size (it’s over 96 metres tall!), but also how beautifully British it is — grand, elegant, and always on time.

The clock faces are lit up at night, which makes it even more magical. And the chimes? So iconic! That famous “bong” you hear in films and TV shows set in London? That’s Big Ben.

If you're in Westminster, take a stroll past it — you’ll definitely want to snap a photo. The area is buzzing with energy and full of history.

It’s also close to lots of other great sights like Westminster Abbey and the London Eye, so it’s a perfect stop on your adventure through the city. Trust me, standing under Big Ben and hearing it ring is one of those unforgettable London moments!
